Dear Friends,
This morning, I was proud to receive the endorsement of Jack Cole and Roy Crow, two respected Eastern Shore elected leaders. Jack is the President of the Caroline County Board of Commissioners and Roy is the President of the Kent County Board of Commissioners. I'm a proud Democrat. Jack and Roy are proud Republicans. But they are crossing party lines to support me in this race because they care more about the future of the Eastern Shore than they do about party labels. I'm honored to have their support.
These days in Washington, there are too many politicians who blindly follow party leaders or narrow ideology instead of working to make real progress on the challenges we face. That's the path Andy Harris has followed for the past 10 years in Annapolis, voting time and time again against common-sense programs to promote energy alternatives, make health care more accessible and affordable, and improve our schools. He's running for Congress to bring that same attitude to Washington. I'm running because I think we need to change Washington, and that starts with electing a representative who will always put the District first.
In Congress, I'll work with Democrats and Republicans alike to promote energy alternatives, to cutting wasteful spending, and to clean up the Bay. Washington has ignored these challenges for too long, and it's time for a change.
